Performed for the Defense Advanced Projects Agency, this study provides the case studies for the landmark Isolating the Guerilla study. Included are analyses of guerilla warfare in the Napoleonic Wars, The Boer War, and the British counterinsurgeny operations in Malaya (1948-1960). The majority of the emphasis is placed on the French and U.S. experience in Vietnam.
