Finally here is a picture of all nine of my published books. It includes two copies of The Battle for Kyiv, as one is the hardback and one is the paperback version. The paperback version does have some revisions and an expanded photo section.

We are looking to add two more books to that collection in the next six months. An additional book on the Russo-Ukrainian War should be out in the next 2 to 3 months, and The Battle of Tolstoye Woods should be out hopefully this spring. The editing process on all my books is slow, primarily because the large amount of charts, tables and tabular data in them that are a pain to edit and proof.

  1. I’ll keep an eye out for the new book. Very much enjoyed the smaller book on Prokohrovka and on the Kursk air war.

  2. Hello!
    Good news!
I have a question about German documents. Have you come across any references or documents about Das Reich SS-Panther Abteilung KTB? I need information about the Battle of Kharkov in August 1943.

    • I have not looked. I have considered writing a book about the August Soviet offensive towards Kharkov, but have not done any work on it in a while. I would take a year or two of my time, so it may not ever get done.

      • Specifically, we did a series of Urban engagements on 18 – 23 August 1943 for our Urban Warfare study and our DLEDB (Division-level Engagement Data Base). The German defending units were the 106th ID, 320th ID and the 282nd ID. We did not look at Das Reich as it was not directly defending Kharkov.

  3. P-Abt had four companies upon arrival. One company was assigned to the 320th Infantry Division on August 22 (No. 3). Two other companies (No. 1 and No. 2) were in the 3PD sector of Lujbotin, Stary Lujbotin. On August 22, they achieved success, destroying 47 Soviet tanks (5 g TA 1 mc). Another Panther company was assigned to the 198th Infantry Division, near Pesochin.

    • Yes, looking at the 320th ID engagement for 22 August, we do report a reinforcement of 11 tanks from 3/I PzBn/Das Riech. They had 9 tanks on 21 August and 20 on 22 August (we do count StuG IIIs as tanks). And on the 23rd our notes report that “one company of Panthers are still attached the 320th ID.

This engagement was “created by Chris Lawrence 13 January 2003”: Been a while since I looked at this.

  4. “And on the 23rd our notes report that “one company of Panthers are still attached the 320th ID.” – This Panther coy has been returned to DR August 24 at 10:45.

    “Just to annoying, has this claim been cross-checked to 5th GTA or 1st MC records?” – this claim has been cross-checked to 5th gTA & 1st MC records the result is: 5th gTA – 37 T-34 & 10 T-70, 1st mc – 18 T-34 & 2 T-70, 1548 hSPAR(53 A.) – 1 SU 152.
